Highland Aqua Team
Highland Aqua Team ( H.A.T) was established in December 2010, offering hand vaccinating teams of highly skilled and experienced team members who can vaccinate a high number of fish efficiently while minimising stress levels to the fish.
When vaccinating, our teams are monitored by H.A.T’s managing director, team leader, hatchery manager, fish health personnel, vaccine suppliers and external auditors.
Each year has seen an increase in fish vaccination contracts through all the major fish farming companies along with an increase in the total production numbers, the demand to increase the production numbers and daily numbers inspired H.A.T’s managing director to design a bespoke automated vaccinating unit which led H.A.T to the makers of the NFT20 in Norway.
H.A.T sits in the hub of the Scottish fish farming industry. Because of the change in the fresh water containment policy, H.A.T saw the opportunity to create and deliver a Fresh Water Net service whilst also offering winter storage for the customer’s nets.
Net Services
Net Washing
On arrival at our plant, all fresh water nets are logged-in with a unique code. This code ensures a complete service record and history. After “logging-in” each net undergoes an initial assessment and is prepared for washing. All nets are dried and made ready for maintenance.
Net Maintenance
On the completion of the washing and drying procedure, each net is transferred and suspended on the inspection gantry. All nets undergo a comprehensive inspection and overall assessment which includes strength tests to clients specification. Our skilled staff carry out all required repairs and mending.
